Collaboration versus Cooperation
Collaboration or Cooperation
In research undertaken by the author in recent times it was found that the particular institution was not meeting its stated goals in terms of producing graduates who were able to work in teams and had developed the abilities and skills to collaborate effectively. This was in spite of the enormous effort by individual teachers and (what was thought to be) David M Kennedyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10261565612997298450noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3749558417170237273.post-50551853616138156162013-01-24T10:57:00.001+08:002013-01-24T10:57:47.469+08:00Blended learning: Where to from here?I have been in transition of late and therefore have not been publishing my ramblings recently. Once you take the Red pill, everything will change and nothing will be the same again, and in fact, you wont be able to go back to the way things were before.

The answer is of course, only one, but the light bulb must WANT TO CHANGE.
In Higher Education, the staff and students also need to see the value of wanting change in order for innovations to have real impact on behaviourDavid M Kennedyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10261565612997298450noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3749558417170237273.post-75552251533995029622011-02-04T12:29:00.000+08:002011-02-04T12:29:29.015+08:00Some observations on the use of mobile phones for learningI jokingly refer to my iPhone as my 'auxiliary brain'. It is used for reminding me about important things to do, calander/ diary, providing just-in-time access to documents via Dropbox, as my presenting tool (using wireless) and communication when I am away from the office.

For example, in a recent article from Educause they identified a number of institutional risks:

Financial risk — surprise support or integration costs

The year 2010 is touted to be the year mobile devices move from the fringe of student learning to the centre of a personalized learning experience.
